My name is Nick Spencer and I joined the staff here at Clough as Family Pastor in 2022. I am married to my amazing wife Sarah, and we have a crazy dog named Sadie. I grew up in the town of Melbourne, Florida where I was raised to cheer for the Florida Gators and love Key Lime Pie! I became a Christian at the age of 14 during a youth camp with a local church and felt the call to ministry shortly after my conversion.
Once graduating high school, I packed up and moved north(ish) to Louisville, Kentucky where I attended the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. There, I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Biblical and Theological Studies and an Advanced Master of Divinity in Christian Ministry before entering into pastoral ministry full-time. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Christian Ethics from Southern through their modular distance program, and my wife is an online undergraduate student with Southern pursuing a degree in Communications.
I have a tremendous heart for family ministry and for families in general. My own personal background, my ministry experience, and my research background are all pieces that contribute to my desire to help your family be as strong as possible. This is no easy task in today’s culture, but we here at Clough are dedicated to teaching sound biblical doctrine to all age levels and in all ministries with God’s glory as the ultimate focus. The good news for families is that when we live according to our design and our purpose, our families are strengthened as a result. At Clough, that is our desire. And as Family Pastor, that is my commitment to you.
“May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Romans 15:5–6
