What is Servant Evangelism?
It is sharing God’s love through practical acts of service. It allows any believer, regardless of gifting, to be involved in sharing God's love with others.
It is fun. Giving away free stuff is fun. If you haven’t tried it, you ought to.
It is easy. You don’t have to be Billy Graham to get involved. All you need is a good attitude.
It is effective. It is effective at giving others a glimpse of God’s true character. He blesses us with what we don’t deserve all the time. We’re just spreading the news.
It is non-threatening. Many Christians shy away from evangelistic events because they look too confrontational. Servant Evangelism is a low-key, no pressure way to tell others about God. If they don’t want a free donut or a shoeshine, that’s ok.
Can you give me some examples?
A ton of examples can be found at www.servantevangelism.com. Some of these include free (really free) car washes, light bulb giveaways, soft drink giveaways, bathroom cleaning, etc.
How do we communicate what we are doing?
The card below is what we attach to each thing (paper, roll of tape, soft drink, etc.) that we give away. It answers all the questions people might have. It also gives them our phone number and address in case they have any needs that they might like to share with us.
Do we accept donations?
Absolutely not. We are serving the community. We will not accept donations. We can’t repay God for how he has blessed us, so we’re not asking others either.
How is this church going to get involved?
We will continue to do outreaches at public places (free donuts, newspapers, etc. at public places). We are also going to target specific streets within our community.
