Juicy Fruit
How do we know when we are and when we aren't walking in the Spirit? What does a person look and act like who is walking in the Spirit? To use an analogy that is used often in Scripture, what is the compelling evidence that a branch is abiding in the vine?
The only objective evidence is the presence or absence of fruit. Fruit is a public testimony to a believer's sensitivity and dependence on the holy Spirit. It is the hallmark of a Spirit-filled life. It is not simply one mark of a Spirit-filled life; it is the preeminent mark. When we see fruit on someone's life, we know without a doubt that the Holy Spirit has custody over that particular person. He or she is under the influence of the Holy Spirit.
We are living in difficult times. But Spirit-filled believers make their biggest impression during troubled time. Then it becomes apparent that the source of their character is something deep within them, not a by-product of their environment. Their lives will be characterized by the following nine virtues:
Love Joy
Peace Patience
Kindness Goodness
Faithfulness Self-Control
Gentleness
